Enriching Programs for Children with Special Needs at Yuppi Camp

  • by

The BRAIN team participated in a camp for children with special needs, held in collaboration with the Yuppi Camp in Halkidiki from August 11th to 18th, 2024. The camp, organized under the mentorship of Prof. Christina Evagelinou, welcomed 30 children with special needs. As part of the BRAIN project, the team co-created a motor-cognitive exercise program in an enriched environment for the children. The aim of the camp was to extend the children’s experiences, providing them with opportunities to engage in physical activities designed to promote both movement and cognitive development.

Through these workshops, the No Brain No Gain team gained valuable insights and hands-on experience in working with children with special needs, enhancing their knowledge and approach in this important field. Likewise, the Greek team benefited from the collaboration, gaining new perspectives on how to improve and further develop activities tailored for children with special needs. This mutual exchange of expertise contributed to the overall success of the camp and the continued growth of both teams in their specialized work.
